From November 21 to 22, 2025, the 2025 Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Academic Innovation Forum on "Internet+" and Intelligent Electrified Agricultural Equipment was successfully held in Zhenjiang. Hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Education Guidance Committee for Engineering Category II and organized by Jiangsu University, the forum centered on the theme "Electrification and Intelligence of Modern Agricultural Equipment". It brought together over 200 experts, scholars, and young graduate students from more than 20 universities and research institutes nationwide to focus on cutting-edge intelligent agricultural machinery and discuss paths for innovation in smart agriculture.
On the morning of the 22nd, the opening ceremony took place in Meeting Room 402 of the R&D Building, Block A, Zhenjiang Science and Technology Park. Opening remarks were delivered by Yang Daojian, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University; Liu Yuanjian, Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Education Guidance Committee for Engineering Category II; and Zhu Xiaoyong, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Jiangsu University. The ceremony was moderated by Ding Shihong, Dean of EIE.
The electrification and intelligence of agricultural equipment serve as vital engines for driving agricultural modernization and ensuring food security. As a premier research base in the field of agricultural engineering, Jiangsu University leverages its disciplinary strengths in electric drives, intelligent control, and agricultural sensors to build a high-level academic exchange platform for graduate students and promote the deep integration of "industry-university-research-application". The forum received more than 100 academic papers covering hot topics such as "High-Efficiency Motors and Intelligent Control," "Electric Drives for Agricultural Equipment," and "Smart Agriculture and Unmanned Agricultural Machinery". Following a rigorous expert review, 50 outstanding papers were selected for recognition.
During the keynote session at the main venue, seven renowned domestic experts shared their insights. Chen Xuegeng, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, systematically introduced innovative practices of smart agriculture technology in grain and cotton production. Professor Kong Xiangzeng from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University explored the prospects of "Embodied Intelligence" and brain-computer interface (BCI) applications in agricultural robots. Professor Ping Jianfeng from Zhejiang University demonstrated plant and animal information monitoring technology based on wearable sensors. Furthermore, multiple experts—including Professor Hu Jin from Northwest A&F University, Professor Rao Yuan from Anhui Agricultural University, Professor Zheng Enlai from Nanjing Agricultural University, and Professor Ding Shihong from EIE—delivered reports on topics such as the Agricultural Internet of Things (AIoT), intelligent tomato production, electric-drive robots, and unmanned machinery scheduling. These presentations showcased the full-chain innovation of intelligent agricultural equipment, from technological R&D to real-world application.
The forum also featured graduate sub-forums and roundtable discussions. Graduate representatives presented their research findings in groups, engaging in lively and highly interactive exchanges. Concurrently, the "National University Education Forum on the Innovative Development of Smart Agriculture" held deep discussions on interdisciplinary talent cultivation, curriculum construction, and industry-academia-research collaboration, exploring new paradigms for graduate education in agricultural engineering.
This forum not only showcased the latest achievements in the field of intelligent electrified agricultural equipment but also provided a platform for young scholars to spark innovation and foster cooperation. Looking ahead, Jiangsu University will continue to deepen its collaboration with universities, enterprises, and research institutes to drive agricultural equipment toward electrification, intelligence, and networking, injecting new momentum into agricultural modernization and rural revitalization.
