In September 2025, the EIE Undergraduate Opening Ceremony was held at the university auditorium. Leadership, faculty, students, and parents gathered both online and offline to welcome the new semester.

The ceremony began with the national anthem. Guests included EIE Party Secretary Zhu Yan, Dean Ding Shihong, Party Secretary of Qiushi College Sun Houjun, Party Secretary of Jinghu College Wang Yan, and Deputy Director of the Jingkou District Publicity Department Wu Changlong. EIE alumnus Sun Tao also attended. The ceremony was moderated by Ye Tao.

Dean Ding Shihong welcomed the 640 new students and introduced the college’s deep academic heritage and faculty strength. He offered three hopes: first, to be ambitious and integrate personal ideals into national development; second, to cultivate virtue and integrity in life and online; and third, to master professional knowledge while embracing cutting-edge technology.

Following the ceremony, EIE held entrance education lectures. Wu Changlong gave a report on local culture, and alumnus Sun Tao shared insights on "Artificial Intelligence+". Ye Tao delivered the first navigation lesson, hoping students would establish healthy "Three Views" (worldview, values, and outlook on life) and resist distractions.
